START UP PROFILE- MATATTU

Matattu is an on-demand transportation network for hailing tricycles online. In simpler terms, it is a business that makes it possible to request for Keke Napep rides. It was founded by Samuel Ajiboyede, a serial entrepreneur who quit his job in 2009 as a director at Robert Johnson a software & Telecom company to begin his own Keke business. In 2012, he founded Fleet Partners, a fleet management and leasing firm. In 2016, he founded Workclick, an on-demand service that matches trained workers to customers.

Matattu is easy to use just like the other riding platforms. To use Matattu, the first step is to download the application on the Google playstore then sign up by filling in all the necessary details and then enable your GPS. The next thing is to set your pick up location and destination. Once this is done, the estimated cost, distance, duration and maximum amount of people to be driven would immediately show on your screen before the request is made. Once the request is made, the only thing left is to await your ride.

Payment on Matattu can be made either with cash or card depending on personal preference. Though Matattu has its own fleet of tricycles, third-party tricycle owners are permitted to come on board once the tricycle meets the laid down requirements. However, Matattu charges 20% on every transaction.

Matattu is open to investments from the public as investors are guaranteed necessary returns on their investments and even the drivers earn double their usual daily earnings. The daily average for a Keke driver is N8, 000 while with Matattu, they earn between 12,000 – 15,000 paid out weekly.

Presently, Matattu is only available in Lagos but it plans to expand to other states within reasonable time.
