Popularly known as Mo Abudu, Mosunmola Abudu was born on the 11th of September, 1963 in the United Kingdom. She moved back into Nigeria at age 7 and stayed in Ondo State, Nigeria.
At 11, she attended Fiwasaye Grammar School. She lost her father at the age of 12 and then returned to the United Kingdom to further her studies. She attended Hammersmith County Secondary School before moving to the Ridgeway School in Kent. She then proceeded to West Kent College and MidKent College. She has a master’s degree in HR Management from the University of Westminster, London.
She began her professional career in the United Kingdom with a recruitment consultant firm and later went on to become the branch manager. Mo Abudulater went on to work for the Stanford Group and Arthur Andersen for Esso Exploration & Production Nigeria Limited (now ExxonMobil)
She found Ebonylife TV in 2006, a subsidiary of Media and Entertainment City Africa. She is the Executive Producer and host of the Television talk show, Moments with Mo, which is the first syndicated daily talk show on African regional television showing in 48 African countries including cable and terrestrial Television.
The show was a massive success across the world and over time as a result of her interviews with numerous prominent figures. She has been referred to as the ‘’Oprah Winfrey’’ of Africa.
In 2013, she was listed as one of the 25 Most Powerful Women in Global TV by The Hollywood Reporter. She received the Entrepreneur of the Year award by Women Werk in New York in 2014, and was honoured with a Honorary Doctorate Degree (Honouris Causa) from Babcock University in the same year.
